About
I’m Karen - an artist, writer, and creative guide rooted in the quiet beauty of California’s San Joaquin Valley. Through painting, photography, and storytelling, I explore the connection between seasons, memory, and meaning. Much of my work is inspired by nature, personal history, and the quiet rhythms of everyday life. I believe art has the power to heal, to hold space, and to help us return to ourselves - especially through life’s tender seasons. The Artful Season is where I share my creative journey, behind-the-scenes process, and seasonal offerings - along with reflections on loss, growth, and renewal.
Whether you’re here to find beauty, inspiration, or simply to slow down and breathe - welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

What feels truer to me is paying attention to where I am and noticing how life, creativity, and healing continue to change shape. Over the past year, I began a body of work called Healing Heart , inspired by kintsugi and created during a season of grief. That work taught me how to carry what had been broken, without rushing toward...

A House with Stories to Tell
This autumn has brought a season of change as my husband and I settle into our new home in Washington. Phase one of our renovation is now complete. The foundation has been repaired, the worn carpets are gone, and new “Vintage Pine” floors have given the upstairs rooms a warm breath of life.
